Fifty years in one county.
We know which subdivisions have clay two feet down, which ones flood, and what the inspector is going to look for — because we’ve fenced most of them before.

Wood, vinyl, aluminum, chain link and ornamental — for backyards, ball fields, pools and pastures across North Florida. Free estimates.
Since [19XX]
150–200 words of real company history goes here. Who started it and in what year. What the first trucks and the first jobs looked like. What has changed about fencing in Putnam County in fifty years, and what is still done exactly the same way. Who runs it now, and whether that is the second or third generation.
Ask the owner these five questions and this section writes itself: What year did you open? Who opened it? What was the first big job? What is the oldest fence of yours still standing? What is the one thing you still do the way you did it in the seventies?
What we can say today without asking anyone: there is no other fence company in Putnam County that has been here long enough to re-fence the same ball field twice, and no other one that can put a crew on a school complex for three weeks and still hang a backyard gate on Friday.
Why Lowman
We know which subdivisions have clay two feet down, which ones flood, and what the inspector is going to look for — because we’ve fenced most of them before.
A crew that can run a three-week athletic complex and still hang a backyard gate on Friday. Most of our competition is one man and a truck.
Wood, vinyl, aluminum, chain link, ornamental and farm fence. We’re not going to talk you into the one we happen to like building.
Fences we built are standing in front of houses, schools and ball fields all over this county. Ask us where the nearest one is and we’ll tell you.

Choosing a material
Every material has a job it’s right for and three it isn’t. Here’s the honest version, for this climate.
| Material | Lifespan in Florida | Maintenance | Privacy | Cost | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Pressure-treated wood | 10–15 years | Wash and seal every few years | Full | $$ | Back yards, dogs, privacy on a budget |
| Vinyl / PVC | 20–30 years | Rinse it off | Full | $$$ | Privacy with no upkeep at all |
| Aluminum ornamental | 30+ years | Essentially none | None | $$$ | Frontage, pools, driveways, curb appeal |
| Galvanized chain link | 20–30 years | None | None — slats optional | $ | Yards, dog runs, job sites, ball fields |
| Vinyl-coated chain link | 20–30 years | None | None | $$ | When you want the fence to disappear into the yard |
| Farm & field wire | 15–25 years | Occasional tensioning | None | $ | Acreage, livestock, long property lines |

Fence questions, answered
Usually, yes. The county land development code covers fences in sections 45-531 through 45-533. Fences over 36 inches generally go through the building permit process, and taller fences require a permit. Bona fide agricultural use is treated differently.
Putnam County Planning & Zoning is at 2509 Crill Avenue, Palatka — (386) 329-0491. We pull permits on jobs we install and we’ll tell you up front if yours needs one. [Verify against the current code PDF and link it here]
In residential zoning the county requires the finished side — the good side, without the rails and posts showing — to face out toward the neighbor and the street. If you want the finished look on both sides, that’s what board-on-board and shadowbox are for. Ask us and we’ll price it.
Not within 100 feet of residential zoning. Agricultural districts that permit livestock have more latitude. If you’re fencing acreage and you’re not sure which side of that line you’re on, tell us the parcel and we’ll check before we quote it.
Florida’s residential swimming pool safety law sets a minimum barrier height and requires gates to be self-closing and self-latching, opening away from the pool. It also governs how far apart the pickets can be and how close to the ground the barrier sits.
[Exact figures pending verification against Chapter 515, F.S. and the Florida Building Code] — we build to the code as written and we’ll walk the enclosure with you before the inspection.
It depends on your zoning and on any easements crossing the parcel. We locate the line before we dig. If it’s genuinely in question, get a survey first — a survey is cheap compared to moving a finished fence, and fences on the wrong side do get moved.
Aluminum and vinyl outlast wood by a wide margin here, and chain link outlasts nearly everything if you don’t need privacy. Pressure-treated wood is still the value pick for a private back yard, but plan on sealing it. The full comparison is in the table above.

Yes — athletic complexes, schools, parks, HOA and apartment pool enclosures, industrial and security chain link, and subdivision perimeter work. That’s a large share of what we do, and it’s the part of the business no one else in this county is set up for. Send us plans →
